“It all began when some friends were getting married at Wrigley Field and asked me to photograph their wedding.”

From the grandest temples to the most humble neighborhood fields, some of the most beautiful real estate in the world can be found in ballparks.

Rediscovering the historic technique of pinhole photography, the artist has captured the classic American ballpark in this rare and limited collection of photographic art. The photos were taken with a large-format 4x5 pinhole camera and printed in three panels, creating triptychs.

Dating back to the early days of photography, the unique characteristics of lensless photography enhance the viewer’s appreciation of these beautiful ballpark images. There is a degree of guesswork and unpredictability with pinhole photography, which is part of its charm. You’re never entirely sure how things will turn out, and that uncertainty can sometimes work in the artist’s favor. Slow shutter speeds allowed the artist to capture and create ghost-like figures in the images. The black-and-white prints, combined with these techniques, give the photos a unique, timeless feel, offering a visual quality that is seldom present in conventional photography.

Each photo in the series is limited to 50 prints. The prints are approximately 15.1 x 4.3 inches, with an overall exterior size of 16.9 x 5.9 inches. Each photo is accompanied by notes about the shot from the artist’s personal journal, printed on the back of each print, along with a certificate of authenticity.
